THE ART OF LAQUERWORK
From Tree to Timepiece: ritual of patience
Vietnamese lacquer, known as Sơn Mài, is a complex and exacting technique perfected over centuries. Extracted meticulously from a very specific Vietnamese laquer tree —yielding just 200ml per mature tree—the lacquer is polished layer after layer to achieve unparalleled depth and mirror-like brilliance. The process is slow and demanding, and requires unwavering attention, great dexterity, and total presence from the artisans who carry it forward.
Each Son Mai dial is a world in itself. It invites the eye to linger, to lose itself in reflections, color, and texture. To explore, to feel, to pause.
PURE SILVER LEAF
To bring texture and depth to our dials, we have chosen, following Vietnamese tradition, to integrate pure silver leaves onto the base of our dials, before applying the Sơn Mài lacquer. A complex and delicate method, giving AWAKE watches a deep, unique, and striking visual effect.
INCOMPARABLE NATURAL COLOURS
The unique colors of our dials come exclusively from carefully selected natural pigments, sourced for their exceptional depth, vibrancy, and authenticity. Each pigment is meticulously blended by hand into refined Vietnamese lacquer, creating hues of unparalleled intensity and subtlety. Through this precise and delicate process, colors gain remarkable luminosity and complexity, evolving with every additional layer applied. The result is a dial whose shades are not merely observed but experienced—rich, alive, and truly one-of-a-kind.
UNPRECEDENTED LUME SIGNATURE

Built upon a complex and exclusive structure of indexes and hands wrapped in Super-LumiNova® BGW9, each dial creates a subtle interplay of chiaroscuro, enhancing the lacquer’s depth and reflections. This transforms the space between the sapphire crystal and dial into a luminous chamber of reflections, offering a distinctive and unmistakable visual signature.

LA JOUX-PERRET FOR AWAKE
Renowned for its reliability and impressive 68-hour power reserve, our La Joux-Perret G101 caliber stands out with a custom-designed tungsten rotor, crafted exclusively for AWAKE. This rotor features elegant contrasts of raised and recessed surfaces, enhanced by refined finishing techniques, creating a striking visual effect.
The movement is encircled by a textured ring bearing the classic "Clous de Paris" motif and protected by a sapphire crystal. Finally, distinctive symbols indicating water resistance (fish) and recycled 316L steel (anvil) are engraved discreetly inside the lugs, adding a unique and original touch.
GENESIS
A new emblem representing the four natural elements — Earth, Air, Sea, and Fire — and AWAKE’s ongoing commitment to balance innovation, tradition, and environmental responsibility.
Inspired by enduring symbols like the hourglass and infinity, Genesis will appear across key components of the watch, giving form to the brand’s values and its timeless inspiration.
BRACELET HANDCRAFTED BY ABP
To enhance this limited edition and give it a racy look and even more meaning, we chose an elegant, comfortable and resistant full-skin aged red calfskin leather strap, the shape of which is inspired by Nato bracelets.
This bracelet, handmade in the Paris workshops of one of France's most famous bracelet craftsmen, ABP (Atelier du Bracelet Parisien, founded in 1997 by the Perrin family), is a subtle and elegant nod to the military DNA of the Remembrance Day and Poppy traditions.
