This version draws inspiration from the Northern Lights, expressed through a hand-guilloché “radiating” pattern of fluid, vibrant lines. Crafted on a traditional engine lathe with exceptional precision, this work demands dexterity and complete mastery of gesture.
The dial is then enhanced in Vietnam with Son Mai lacquer, applied in multiple layers of natural pigments according to an ancestral craft. This approximately ten-hour process creates a deep gradient and unique textural effects, made even more singular by the inherent unpredictability of the lacquer. In the light, the dial comes alive with shifting reflections reminiscent of the aurora borealis.
This exceptional piece embodies the encounter of two cultures and crafts within a miniature creation of remarkable aesthetic richness.
