Désireux de rendre hommage à l’histoire Japonaise, Mohamed Kahouadji fusionne dans ses œuvres les époques ainsi que les références au gré de son imagination. En faisant cohabiter les techniques ancestrales et les icônes de la Pop Culture asiatique, son art étonne et détonne, à la fois explosif et fascinant. Mohamed évoque une forme de revanche de l'art Oriental sur l'Occident, et rend hommage aux célèbres œuvres de Katsushika Hokusai, artiste emblématique du XVIIIème siècle, surnommé Gakyōjin, littéralement « Vieux Fou de dessin ».

Respecting Japanese ancestral know-how, Mohamed Kahouadji essentially works
with paint or ink based on pure pigments in order to give greater intensity to its colors.
In constructing his harmonious worlds, he manipulates numerous techniques. A series of visual experimentation that leads him to work with acrylic, pure pigment, posca, ink, watercolor and selective varnish. Able to superimpose up to twenty layers to obtain new renderings, he wrings out techniques, launches into a new discipline, consumes it, and starts again, always in search of greater mastery.

RISOGRAPHY, AN ENVIRONMENTALLY-FRIENDLY TECHNIQUE.
Risography is an artistic and committed choice, in accordance with our common values, on the border between digital printing and screen printing. It is characterized by a very particular and unique aesthetic which is based on the superposition of bright colors offering a screened rendering with the artisanal accent at the origin of its success. Risography is environmentally friendly and consumes very little energy. It uses inks made only of soya and without any solvent. A virtuous way to bring you into the colorful world of Mohamed Kahouadji.
